Join the Chicago based arts collective momoration 椋鳥群飛 for a screening of Wan Qing’s work “Three Giant Salamanders in the Basement” along with two other short films concerning anarchist tofu stands, martial arts, and identity cards. Following the screening, attendees will be invited to correspond via letter with the artists in Guangzhou. This event is part of Mouse’s Event Series: Soybean Investigations.

“Wan Qing (b. 1993, Chongqing) graduated with a degree in Journalism from Sun Yat-sen University in 2015. She currently moves between Guangzhou and the Wuling Mountains, a region spanning the borders of four provinces, working primarily with video and performance to transform personal experiences and stir the air.
Wan is a member of Theatre 44 and Energy Waving Collective (Yi Qi Lian Gong), the initiator of limilink, the caretaker of QianTai-osf, and also a practitioner of Five Element Acupuncture.
Life, creation, and collective practice—three modes of engaging with reality—interact and intertwine through her bodily field, shaping a layered and subtle landscape.”
