Chicago's self-described "beautifully doomed psych folk" singer-songwriter JOE&RUE embarked on an ambitious project in the fall of 2026: to learn the songs of the beloved, enigmatic British musician Nick Drake.

After a year of diving deeply into his myriad alternate tunings, idiosyncratic phrasing, and masterful fingerpicking, JOE&RUE presents a set of Drake's brooding and poetic songs, each one a vignette of uncanny observation, introspection, and melancholic tone. The concert will include an overture of songs by Nick's mother Molly Drake, as well as contextual notes throughout the performance.

JOE&RUE released the single Real Green Dollars in September, and his album Jeweled Net was released in 2024.
