N+1 translation columnist Bela Shayevich (translator of Nobel Prize winner Svetlana Alexeivich, among others) is hosting a translation mixer and mini-workshop for translators and the translation-curious. Bilingual participants are invited to bring "Nasty, Brutish, and Short" selections sections of text along with an interlingual translation. Together, we will work on collaboratively solving your most twisted translation problems. Examples of difficult texts may include: slangy dialogue, contorted sentences, rhyming poetry.
