The “Spicy Villages of Mice” Present — A Poetry Reading

The queers and the translators get experimental! Join us at the end of June for an evening of new poems from a stacked line-up of Chicago and New York based writers. 

Mouse 1:
Temperance Aghamohammadi is an Acolyte of the Exquisite. She is the author of BATTALION SHAPED GIRL, and Behnt, the winner of the NDR Chapbook prize, out from New Delta Review in July 2026.

Mouse 2:
Cecily Chen is a writer and translator from Beijing, China. Most recently, she is the translator of BED, out from beautiful days press. She used to be the poetry editor of Chicago Review. 

Mouse 3:
Reuben Gelley Newman is a poet, librarian, and musician who circulates in New York City and elsewhere. He is the author of Dear Dear, out from Trio House Press on July 1.

Mouse 4:
Ty Raso is a poet, teacher, author of MIRROR WOULD BE A BEAUTIFUL NAME FOR A CHILD (Noemi Press, 2027), river-enthusiast, pickler, and Aquarius. She can be found on Instagram @Spaghetti_Utopia or on her website tylerraso.com
